Del Bromham and Stray

Del Bromham is an extraordinary guitarrist appearing as a solo acoustic act, or leading the excellent Stray.  More recently, he, with members of Stray, has collaborated with members of Pearl Handled Revolver, and Cherry Lee Mewis as Del Bromham’s Blues Devils.  All three incarnations are well worth watching.

Del Bromham, of Stray, performs a solo acoustic set at The Ship, in Bedford.

Del performs another solo acoustic set at The Crown, Ley Hill, near Chesham (a local one for me).

Stray at The Boom Boom in Sutton, with support by the Steve Boyce Band.

Boom Boom

Stray at The Standard in Walthamstow.  Again, support was by the Steve Boyce Band.

Del performs another solo acoustic set at The Stormy Monday Club in The Bull’s Head, in Barnes..

Bulls Head

Stray at The Malt Shovel, Northampton.  A rockin’ four-hour set, with just a few minutes break in the middle.  A great atmosphere inside so I could get lots of ‘people shots’, with thanks to Terry for pointing out various friends of the band.

Stray at the legendary 100 Club in London’s Oxford Street.  This set was taken using my ‘toy’ camera, so many of the pictures aren’t as sharp as they should be.

March 2010: Stray return to The Standard in Walthamstow.

Spring Bank Holiday, 2010 - Monday: Stray at The Wheatsheaf, Leighton Buzzard.  My second visit to this relatively local venue.

Early in July, Del played another solo acoustic set at The Crown in Ley Hill.  Photo-less this time, but the following evening saw Stray in full flow at The Tropic, in Ruislip.

Stray played a special gig in London’s Borderline for the re-launch of their Valhalla Album with a new record label.  Del also raffled off his ‘Flying V’ guitar.

The following week, Stray made a welcome return to Ruislip. (22/10/2010)

My second visit to London’s Borderline was again to see Stray. (021: 21/3/2011)

Thunderbird 5 in Danny’s Bar for another Sunday afternoon session, with a surprise guest appearance by Del Bromham of Stray. (028: 3/4/2011)

Del Bromham played a mainly acousic set to re-launch his Devil’s Highway album, with occasional assistance from other members of Stray, in Holy Moly’s (part of Esquires). (057: 8/6/2011)

Holy Molys

Stray made a Sunday afternoon visit to Danny’s Bar, and gave us a solid 3-hour set with no breaks.  One of the best ‘value’ freebies around!  (12/025, Sunday 18/3/2012)

August Bank Holiday Monday saw the return of Stray to The Wheatsheaf.  The usual Bank Holiday hog roast also went down well.  (12/089, Monday 27th August 2012)

It doesn’t seem possible that there’s a thirty month gap between this album and the last.  Anyway, here we are, catching up with Stray, back at The Tropic.  (15/04, Friday 6th February 2015)

Del Bromham back in London with his Blues Devils at the 100 Club in Oxford Street.  (15/019, Tuesday 24th February 2015)

100 Club

Del Bromham joins Simon Rinaldo of Pearl Handled Revolver to support FM on the main stage at Esquire’s.  (15/027, Friday 13th March 2015)
