Miscellaneous other one-off musical soirées that are, as yet, unsorted. Usually, when a band or venue features in more than one album, it will get its own page on this site, and the album will be moved there.
Richard Holgarth seen here in yet another guise - the 4th in as many days. Here in ‘The Gits’ with Steve Frost near London’s King’s Cross. The previous evening saw him in Sheffield as part of John Otway’s Big Band. The evening before that, he was again partnering John Otway in Aylesbury on the Mad, Bad, & Dangerous tour with The Hamsters and The Wilko Johnson Band. And the evening before that Richard was with Eddie and The Hot Rods in Cleon, France. November 2007.
Wild At Heart (one of Barry Upton’s alter-egos) in Pagham, Sussex, near Bognor Regis and Chichester.
Odds and Ends: Small sets of pictures that don’t readily fit anywhere else - YET! Starting off with a few pictures from Danny’s Bar, Bedford. Next comes an unknown traditional jazz band, playing at the Boxmoor Conker Festival.
I first saw Tailgator at The Greenacres Tavern. Here they are at The Black Boy in Bricket Wood, where I was in the company of some of The Odds’ regulars. Unfortunately, the indoor p.a. wasn’t really suitable for this outdoor location, and the sound was poor. Later in the day, we ‘retired’ back to The Odds, ostensibly to see Leech, but we stayed in the garden most of the evening.
The Ben Poole Band at The Horn in St. Albans. Support was by Nine Miles South (not pictured) and Shotgun house. (13/028, Wednesday 13th March 2013)
Following a tip-off from Yvonne Baker, who also appears in this album, I drove over to the Red Lion in Isleworth for a Sunday afternoon’s entertainment at the hands of Papa George and Micky Moody. Splendid stuff! (13/077, Sunday 7th July 2013)
A rare Monday night outing so see Pink Cigar at The Black Heart in Camden, London. (13/105, Monday 4th November 2013)
Having seen them at Skeggie earlier in the year, I drove down to The Beaverwood Club in Chislehurst to see Girls With Guitars. A great night of Rock and Blues, much of it self-penned. (15/044, Thursday 23rd April 2015)
A new band, and a new venue. Last Orders play in Harry’s Bar, Hunton Bridge, Abbott’s Langley - only a few minutes from where I live. A smallish bar with a great atmosphere. (16/028, Saturday 23/04/2016)
Another new band, Killit, and only my second visit to Nambucca, in London’s Holloway Road. (16/030, Wednesday 4th May 2016)
A summer’s day out at Forty Hall, Enfield - Gone Away With The Faeries. Lots of music and other stuff going on, including, on the Sunflower Stage, an acoustic set from Mark Gustavina and Shelley Patt. (16/053, Sunday 3rd July 2016)
