Champions League Final, Arsenal v. Barcelona

Arsenal’s New Stadium

Arsenal’s last home game of the 2008/2009 season.  Another chance for the Ladies to show off their haul of four pieces of silverware.  The shot of the pitch with the sprinklers on is from my own seat.  These pictures were taken with what I call my ‘toy’ camera - hence no close-ups on the pitch.

In March 2011, I finally caught up with Alan Connell playing for Grimsby Town FC away at Kettering FC, having missed him in all the time he spent at Bournemouth FC.

For my birthday in 2011, Mark bought me two tickets for a tour of the Arsenal Stadium, which also included a visit to the Arsenal museum.

On to the 2013 - 2014 season, and an evening match at Highbury between Arsenal and Liverpool.

Still following the career of Alan Connell, here he is playing for Northampton Town against Southend United on Tuesday 25th February 2014.  (Between Grimsby Town and here, he spent a season at Bradford City).  The final score was 2 - 1 to Northampton.

Arsenal v. Wigan Athletic - F.A. Cup Semi-Final, 2014 @ Wembley Stadium.  This was my first visit to the new Wembley Stadium.  The game ended in a penalty shout-out, and fortunately this action took place right in front of me.  Despite the distance from the pitch, the penalty pictures didn’t come out too badly.

Unfortunately, I was unable to get tickets for the final. 

Another small album featuring Alan Connel.  The match was between Wealdstone and Havant & Waterlooville, Alan having returned to near the south coast. The score was 2 - 2.   Monday 6th October 2014.

Arsenal v. Aston Villa - F.A. Cup Final 2015.  After a nervous first thirty minutes, Theo Walcott broke the deadlock, which led to a comfortably emphatic 4 - 0 win.

First game of the season, 2015/6 - Arsenal v. West Ham United.  Sunday 9th August 2015.  Not a good start, losing 2 - 0.  Later, I got to Borehamwood in time to see Arsenal Ladies lose to Manchester City.  It was one of those days, I guess.
